Professor Bramstedt is an internationally renowned clinical ethicist who trained in USA (Loma Linda University; UCLA  School of Medicine) and Australia (MonashUniversity Faculty of Medicine). She currently leads the Health Advocate and Professional curriculum at Bond University Medical School in Queensland, Australia.

Professor Bramstedt’s areas of interest include medical ethics and the medical humanities (including narrative medicine and the visual arts). In addition to her work in medical education, Professor Bramstedt also conductsand supervises research, and provides clinical ethics consultations worldwide using telemedicine technology. She is the author of ‘ Trapped in My Own Labyrinth: Poetry Spawned by Vertigo’ - a collection of poems, written as a form of narrative medicine, while the author was suffering from vertigo.
