Annie Smol is the Artistic Director of Face Front Inclusive Theatre http://www.facefront.org  . FaceFront wants to create a more inclusive world through multi-sensory theatre and uses the transformational power of theatre in order to redress inequality and improve emotional well-being. Face Front has been creating multi-accessible theatre for over ten years with disabled and non- disabled arts practitioners for theatre, schools and community audiences.Face Front’s multi-layered approach stimulates our audiences on different sensory levels through interweaving the visual (physical theatre, movement, film) and the aural (song, sound-scaping, poetry and music) using sign languageand audio description as an integral part of the performance. Our style gives audience members different routes of access to the performance whilst enabling everyone to have a theatrical experience of quality.

At the core of all our work is our belief that 'it's about belonging'. We believe that our multi-accessible style of performance is a distinct and exciting theatrical form in its own right, appealing to a wide range of both established and new audiences.

We work primarily in special and mainstream schools, colleges and day services providing multi -accessible theatre programmes working closely with our partners in health and education to enable young people to make informed, healthy and positive life choices.

A new piece of theatre is being developed with Dr.Maria Vaccarella at Kings Cultural Institute on the theme of transition, choice, control and new beginnings with the aim of reducing anxiety around transition for young people with Learning Disabilities/Difficulties and their parents/carers ensuring that they have real control over their move from school to the adult world.
